I’m a Shopify Consultant
I started my career in finance — analysing balance sheets, managing FX risk, and modelling cost-benefit cases for Queensland infrastructure projects. In 2013 I moved into software engineering, and for the last 8+ years I've focused on Shopify: building custom themes, apps, Shopify Functions and checkout extensions for premium ecommerce brands using Shopify across Australia, New Zealand, US, UK, Canada and Hong Kong.
That finance background still shows up in how I work. I like clear specs, measurable outcomes, and prioritising the highest-impact work first. I'm comfortable owning a Shopify platform end to end — checkout logic, theme architecture, third-party integrations, site performance, data analysis and reporting — and increasingly take on technical leadership, coordinating specs and delivery across internal and external teams. I also lean on AI tooling like Claude Code to move faster without cutting corners on quality.
